System Overview

The Hanwell wireless monitoring system offers one of the most reliable and robust RF monitoring solutions available today.
Biomap has had experience of working with a number of continuous monitoring systems as part of our temperature mapping service and the Hanwell system is certainly one of the strongest performers, hence our decision to work with Hanwell directly offering their Radiolog wireless system.
The product is backed up by a comprehensive reference list of installations across different areas of the Pharmaceutical industry throughout the UK and Europe.

A typical system consists of:

Base station receiver/s

A network enabled receiver, designed for collecting environmental monitoring data from multiple points within a site (or across multiple sites). In addition, it can be upgraded to a transceiver which both receives and retransmits the data. It uses standard TCP/IP communications protocols for speedy data handling. The network traffic generated is very low and data is automatically sorted and filed.

Up to 16 x sr2 Receivers can be installed on a single system and each sr2 can handle up to 253 sensors (a total of 4048 sensors).

Transmitters

A transmitter is required for each monitoring location (dual channel options are available to monitor two points of data if required). Each transmitter accurately and reliably transmits the environmental parameter data via radio to the base station that is linked directly to your local server and PC. The data is gathered and historical information is stored continuously for user analysis.
Each radio transmitter has enough internal memory to store up to 100,000 readings and continually logs, guaranteeing 100% validity of the data.

The moulded case allows easy access to the battery and USB socket, as well as having slots to fit onto secure wall brackets.

The transmitter range has been designed to comply with the RoHS and WEEE EU directives, and carries the CE mark.

Software

Key to managing a successful system is having a powerful yet simple application to manage the system and data. The Radiolog software:

  • Runs on a variety of Microsoft based platforms including:
     o Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 2003 server
  • Can accommodate multi users with associated security limiting user ability
  • Devices can be added at will with no interruption of logging
  • Users can be added at will
  • Client server based variant available
  • Can support multiple geographical locations in a single organisation
  • Can access historical data seamlessly
  • Extensive reporting available
  • User can be configured to only see their area of responsibility
  • Variety of alarm features available:
     o Optional add-on e-alarm provides email notification of alarms
     o Optional add-on SMS alarm provides SMS notification of alarms
  • Can be integrated into Building Management Systems to provide a closed loop control system
